It’s easy to buy a ready-made Sukuna costume which will come with the kimono and belt. It’s also a fairly easy costume to make yourself – any white robe or kimono will work. The belt is the only part that may be difficult to mimic if you’re trying to be precise with the pattern. If you are less concerned about accuracy, any blue fabric will work as the belt.

How to Make Your Luffy Costume

Luffy wears a red top and blue shorts which go down to his knees. We’re focusing on the post-time skip outfit. So for our cosplay, Luffy would have an open red shirt with ¾ length sleeves that flare out at the bottom. The shirt also has some golden buttons. His look is very casual and quite baggy.

This is easy to mimic – any red shirt and long blue shorts will do. You could wear jean shorts, or cut a pair of jeans off at the knee and fold them over. Alternatively, you could buy a ready-made Straw Hat Luffy outfit if you prefer.

To pair with the open shirt, our favorite pirate has a yellow sash around his waist. It’s tied at one side and the leftover fabric hangs down.

Luffy has a noticeable scar on his chest in the shape of an ‘X’ that he got during a battle. Since his shirt is worn open, the scar is very visible. Therefore, it’s important to include it in your cosplay.

You can copy the shape of the scar using body paint or makeup. If you’re very creative, you could use special effects makeup (often referred to as SFX makeup) to give the scar texture. This will make it look more realistic. There are some tutorials online with pictures and videos to help guide you if it’s your first time trying something like this.

If you have breasts, you will need to get creative with this. You could use body tape to cover them and create a smoother canvas for the scar. Alternatively, you could wear a skin-colored top under the shirt with the X drawn on it. Or you could think outside the box and make the character more feminine.

How to Make Your Sailor Moon Costume

The main part of a Sailor Moon costume is the top and skirt (it often comes as a dress). Of course, her outfit has a sailor vibe mixed with a magical theme. It’s quite a detailed costume, and each element is important to the character’s look.

She wears a white short-sleeved top which has a ‘V’ at the bottom where it meets the skirt. It features a blue, sailor-style collar, with white stripes along the edge. Right in the middle of the top on the chest is a huge red bow. In the center of the bow is her magical brooch.

The skirt part of the outfit is bright blue and pleated. It’s quite short and flows out when she moves. There’s also a large bow on the back of the outfit.

The top and skirt tend to come together in a ready-to-wear outfit. Buying one is the easiest way to do this cosplay since there’s so much detail on the outfit. However, if you’re feeling creative, you could also choose to make it yourself. There are plenty of tutorials online, both in video and blog form.

How to Make Your Spider Gwen Costume

There are two options for the main part of your Spider Gwen costume – you can go for a full bodysuit, or a separate top and bottoms. Both look good, it really depends on your preference and where you source your costume.

The bodysuit has black trousers and a black section in the center of the top (it looks like a strapless black top). The rest of the torso is made up of white along with white arms and gloves. There’s also a white hood which can be worn up over your head or down depending on the look you’re going for. There’s pink detailing in Gwen’s spider web pattern on the arms and inside the hood.

The bodysuit is tight fitting, in keeping with her sleek style. Often ready-made Gwen costumes feature the bodysuit. Some people also choose to make the suit themselves or decorate a plain white bodysuit.

If you prefer your costume in two separate parts, you can buy a ready-to-wear Spider Gwen top or hoodie with the same details as the bodysuit. You’ll need tight black leggings or other skin-tight black trousers to pair with it. You can get these from anywhere – as long as they’re black and sit close to your body they will work.

How to Make Your Gojo Satoru Costume

Gojo wears a black jacket with a high collar – think like a turtleneck. He wears the jacket closed all the way up, so you can wear anything you like underneath. Although, in theory he wears a white shirt underneath. His jacket appears to have a shiny texture to it, but this is less important than the color and style.

The jacket comes with ready-to-wear Gojo Satoru costumes, but you can easily find any plain black jacket with a high collar if you prefer. Some cosplayers even use a turtle neck jumper or top to mimic his style. But if you’re going for accuracy, the jacket is key.

We’ll talk you through how to cosplay Deku, as well as share some inspiration to help you get started.

How to Make Your Deku Costume

The main part of Deku’s outfit is his bodysuit, which is what makes the cosplay so simple to put together. His bodysuit is green with long sleeves and full legs. It has black and white detailing. It isn’t super tight to the skin, although you could choose one that is to show off your sexy side if you prefer.

There are plenty of places you can buy a ready-to-wear Deku bodysuit with all the details included, which makes your life easier. But if you prefer to get crafty, you could make your own interpretation. Buy a green bodysuit and add the details by sewing them on or using fabric paint. There are even patterns online to guide you.

One of the most iconic parts of the character’s appearance is his green hair. He wears it in a spiky style with a fringe that covers most of his forehead and sometimes falls across his eyes.

If you have short hair you could use temporary dye to color it green and style it to match the character’s hair. However, most people opt to get a wig. There are plenty of Deku wigs that are ready-colored and styled to save you any hassle. Although you could buy a green wig and style it yourself if you’re handy with a pair of scissors!

Protection is important in battle, so our character wears black knee pads and elbow pads. They’re quite chunky to stand up to impact and also serve to add another layer to his outfit.

Most Deku costumes come with the pads included, but you could easily source some cheap black knee and elbow pads if you’re putting together your own costume.

Deku’s mask is an important part of his story. He has a green mask with ‘ears’ that goes over his head, along with a respirator section that covers his mouth and the lower part of his face. The mask is a nod to Toshinori Yagi (also known as All Might) who trained him.

The character isn’t often actually seen wearing the mask, so a lot of people don’t include it in their cosplay. Others choose to wear it around their neck or carry it with them. If you want to really show your dedication to the character, it’s worth having the mask so you can wear it for photos and specific poses. Your best bet is to buy one ready-made unless you’re very handy with crafts!

The small details are optional, but always a great idea to include as they pull the cosplay together. They show you have put the effort in.

Deku is typically seen with a red belt around his waist with two compartments. The belt often comes with Deku costumes, but it’s also fairly easy to make by painting a belt red if needed. If the character’s white gloves don’t come with the bodysuit, these are an easy addition to your cosplay.

Our hero is also known for his symmetrical freckles, which can easily be mimicked with makeup.

She’s chosen a tight-fitting bodysuit for her Deku cosplay. The details like the red belt and pads are printed onto the suit. It gives her cosplay a unique look while still staying true to the character. She’s colored her own hair to match the character’s and even added some well-thought-out makeup.

If you’re active in the cosplay world, you must have heard of Rolyat! Both a streamer and a cosplayer, at 28 years old she’s built a large and very loyal following across social media.

Although they focus more on teaching now, their Deku cosplay is not to be missed! They’ve put an interesting spin on the white gloves and elbow protection, combining them into one to make a more ‘battle-ready’ look.

With a true talent for portraying characters of all genders, we had to include KendelB in our top 10! She isn’t afraid to interpret the characters she plays to suit her style, but yet she still manages to stay accurate to the original series’.

Her Deku cosplay is no different – she’s chosen to make the character feminine. And what’s more, she’s done it outstandingly well. Right down to the long green wig, colored contacts, and makeup, this cosplay is magnificent.

Also known as Kai or Kairon, kainosaurus_ is a non-binary cosplayer with a gift for depicting characters of all genders. Without fail, they produce phenomenal cosplays with great attention to detail in both their costumes and backgrounds.

We’re obsessed with their cosplay of Deku. It’s entirely accurate to the original character, including the looser-fitting bodysuit, the hair, and all the accessories.

On his Instagram page rebel__galaxy, Vince produces cosplays that show off the darker side of the characters he chooses. Each picture is staged beautifully to capture the strong, powerful essence of his chosen personas.

Deku is one of Vince’s favorite characters – he has many photos of this cosplay on his social media. He’s gone for the full mask which is rarely seen, so it makes his outfit stand out from the crowd. 

Another male cosplayer who isn’t afraid to explore the darker, more serious side of his characters is Andee Lim. Every one of his cosplays is breathtaking to look at, with incredible detail and formidable poses.

How to Make Your Nico Robin Costume

One of the most crucial parts of the Nico Robin costume is her skirt. It’s a sari style which is wrapped around her body and tied at the side. The skirt is long and salmon colored, with images of seaweed and flowers on one side. Since the skirt wraps around, it often has a gap which shows one of her long legs.

It’s easy to get your hands on a replica of the sari skirt in a ready-to-wear costume. Alternatively, you could buy a sari skirt or material in a similar color to wrap around your body. You could use fabric paint to add the details to the side of the skirt.

• Nico wears a long sari-style skirt tied around her body.
• Source a replica skirt or find a sari skirt in a similar color.

Nico’s top is blue, cropped, and looks like a leather material. It has a zip down the front which is often zipped quite low to show her chest. It has short sleeves and is tight fitting. On the left side of the top, there is an image of her ‘devil fruit’ or a Chrysanthemum flower in white or lighter blue.

The top typically comes with the skirt in a ready-made Nico Robin costume. It may be hard to source a top that is similar elsewhere. However, if you’re in a pinch, you could wear a blue crop top and use fabric paint to add some of the details. If you’re very crafty, you may be able to find a pattern to make your own top from blue material.

If you have black or even dark brown hair you could style it to match the character’s hair. You may need to add some clip-in extensions for length. If your natural hair is lighter, you could wear a wig. Some wigs even come ready-styled as part of a Nico cosplay outfit.

Nico Robin’s sunglasses are iconic! She wears white sunglasses with orange lenses. The color of the frame is less important than the color of the lenses – black or metal frames will do fine. The style of the glasses doesn’t matter too much either – if you have some of the right color on hand, they should work.

The character wears her glasses on her forehead, so they don’t need to be particularly high quality as you won’t be wearing them to see through. Some Nico costumes come with the glasses, but if not, similar ones are easy to source.

Unlike many other cosplay characters, there aren’t many details you need to worry about with Nico Robin. However, her makeup is something you can play around with to add a little something extra to your cosplay.

The character’s eyes are blue or brown depending on which depiction you look at. They usually have quite dark outlines, so some eyeliner and lashes will do nicely. Her eyebrows are dark to match her hair, so you can use a brow product or eyeshadow to match the color.

A subtle, natural lipstick or gloss will be perfect. If you’re skilled with contouring, you could contour your nose to look long and thin like Nico’s.

How to Make Your Hatsune Miku Costume

Hatsune Miku wears a grayish-silver shirt with a blue hem. It’s sleeveless to allow plenty of arm movement during performances. On one side across the chest there is a yellow stripe and the word ‘vocaloid’ in black capital lettering.

There are plenty of options for ready to wear Hastume Miku costumes, where you can get the exact shirt for your cosplay. However, if you are feeling crafty you could make one from a gray shirt by sewing on the extra details.

How to Make Your Cammy Costume 

The main piece of Cammy’s costume is the green leotard. It’s quite a bright green, with no sleeves and a high neck. It’s tight fitting and should be made from a fairly stretchy material so you’re ready for battle. You need to be able to do all those Cammy moves for your poses!

You can purchase the leotard as part of a ready-made Cammy costume, or you can simply buy a plain green leotard.

• Find a green leotard or buy one as part of a Cammy costume.
• Ensure it has a high neckline and fits close to your body.

Another vital part of the costume is the red beret she wears on top of her head. It’s made of wool but this isn’t as important as the bright red color – any red beret will do. You can buy one as part of a Cammy costume, or find one online.

In many depictions of the character, the red beret also has a Delta red logo on it. This is an upside-down triangle in gold with an eagle in the middle. In the center of the eagle, there is a shield made up of white and red squares. This is an excellent detail to add if you want to go all-out for your cosplay.
